Meghan Rector, M. Ed is the mathematics teacher for Western Carolina University lab middle school, The Catamount School. Rector completed a Masters of Education from Vanderbilt University, where she studied learning and design theories and the impact of their cohesion within traditional and non-traditional learning settings. Recently she has taught for Western Carolina University education department as an adjunct faculty focusing on elementary math methods, and middle school teacher preparation. Rector’s teaching and research center around growing mathematical knowledge in pre-service math teachers, the impact and implementation of culturally responsive math practices in the classroom, and the exploration of the impact of journaling on students' motivation, and identity with mathematics.
