Marja G. Bertrand is a PhD candidate and a senior research associate at Western University, and a math/science teacher. Ms. Bertrand has received several graduate awards from the Faculty of Education, Western University. Specifically, the Art Geddis Memorial Award for her use of reflective practice as a critical lens and the Joan Pedersen Memorial Graduate Award for her contribution to the “Early Years” education research. She has also implemented and designed curriculum documents for STEM, STEAM and Maker education activities with aesthetically rich mathematical experiences. Ms. Bertrand’s research interests lie in STEM/STEAM education, Makerspaces, Designed-Based Learning and Computational Thinking tools.
