Professional Bio
Marilyn E. Strutchens, Ph.D. is an Emily R. and Gerald S. Leischuck Endowed Professor and a Mildred Cheshire Fraley Distinguished Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Auburn University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate mathematics education courses. She is the leader of the Clinical Experiences Research Action Cluster for the Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership. Her other research interests include equity in mathematics education, teacher leadership, and reform mathematics professional development for grades K-12 teachers. She serves as the chair of the Advisory Committee for the Directorate of STEM Education for the National Science Foundation. She is a past member of the Board of Directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and a past president of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, and a member of several national organizations’ committees and writing groups.
