I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education in the Mathematics Department at Western Michigan University. I use multi-modal qualitative video analysis to study how students and teachers engage in mathematical reasoning. My professional goal is to better understand how to provide opportunities for K-16 students and teachers to engage with mathematics in ways that are both empowering and personally meaningful.
