Jill Cheeseman comes from a background of primary teaching and has now taught education students from the Early Years to post-graduate level. Her special interest is working with in-service primary teachers and mathematics leaders. Her research interests centre on how children learn mathematics and how teachers challenge children’s mathematical thinking. Her current projects investigate ways to encourage teachers to foster curiosity in children using inquiry mathematics and ways young children conceptualise early multiplication and division.
