Professional Bio

JeongSuk Pang is a Full Professor in the Department of Elementary Education and Mathematics Education at Korea National University of Education in Korea. She graduated from Seoul National University of Education at the top of her class and received her Ph.D. at Louisiana State University in the USA. She was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in the USA. She was the International Director of the Korean Society of Mathematical Education and the Korea Society of Educational Studies in Mathematics. She was also an International Committee of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (IGPME) during 2008-2012 and a Co-chair of Topic Study Groups regarding measurement and early algebra, respectively, in ICME-12 and ICME-13. She was Editor-in-Chief of The Mathematical Education and has been an associate editor of Asian Journal for Mathematics Education. She has been actively involved in the development of the national mathematics curriculum and textbook series, professional development for mathematics teachers, and analysis of mathematics classroom culture. She received the best teaching award in her institution and the research award from the Korean Society of Mathematical Education. Her recent studies were published in international journals such as ZDM-Mathematics Education, Mathematical Thinking and Learning, Journal of Educational Psychology, and International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education.
