Principal Investigator of the research group GRESUD (Research Group on Education to Overcome Inequalities), a consolidated research centre recognised by the Generalitat de Catalunya (AGAUR). President since 2019 of the Multidisciplinary Association for Educational Research (AMIE), a WERA (World Educational Research Association) member. Permanent member representing Spain at the Commission Internationale pour l'Étude et al Amélioritation del Enseignement des Mathématiques (CIEAEM) since 2012. Responsible for NW 24 (Research in Mathematics Education) at ECER (European Conference of Educational Research), from 2014 to 2018. He is also a Numeracy Expert Group (OECD) member, working on the PIAAC survey (2018 to 2023).
