Kaye Stacey has wide-ranging interests in mathematics education, with changing emphases over her long career. The main underlying theme is to promote mathematics classrooms where students are encouraged to thinking deeply, to investigate and reason mathematically and to solve challenging problems. She promotes a school curriculum that is maximally relevant to young people’s future lives, including by using new technologies. She has published many articles and books drawing on her research and work in teacher education.
