Professional Bio
I am a white settler who is privileged to be living on the lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Nakoda, Dakota, and Lakota as well as the traditional homeland of the Métis in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada which is situated on Turtle Island.
I am an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education in the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina. My areas of research include:
• de/colonizing mathematics and mathematics education
• teaching mathematics through and for social justice
• pre-service and in-service teachers combinatoric thinking
• mathematical representation
• mathematical culture
• pre-service teachers understanding of bases and logarithms
- truth and reconciliation within mathematics and mathematics teaching and learning
I currently teach education-based mathematics courses to secondary pre-service teachers who are majoring or minoring in mathematics as well as curriculum development to undergraduate and graduate students.
